Event Details

LA Artcore is presents its fourth installment of the International Exchange Show with Thailand, an exhibition produced by LA Artcore and the Thai Art Council, USA in conjunction with the Office of National Culture Commission of Thailand.

Spanning a cumulative total of one month, International Exchange Show with Thailand directors Lydia Takeshita and Kamol Tassananchalee are coordinating a selected group of visual artists from Thailand and the United States and have made arrangements for them to travel together for a two week period in each country, conduct educational workshops to the public, and exhibit together. The program will begin with the group exhibiting for two weeks at both of LA Artcore’s Union Center and Brewery Annex galleries and will immediately continue in Bangkok, Thailand where all artists will exhibit in two locations: Fine Arts Museum at Chiang Mai University, Bangkok and Thailand Culture Center, Bangkok.

This invaluable exchange program offers artists the opportunity to travel and participate in group activities alongside their peers, who are professional artists and whose disciplines reflect a diversity of approaches. This program exposes its participants to multitudes of differences and similarities that exist between participants and countries for which the benefits are numerous and which in turn, promote strengthening artists’ positions in their creative pursuits.

The participating artists are Lea Denise Anderson, Pongdej Chaiyakut, Nonthivathn Chandhanaphalin, Peerapong Duangkaew, Thawan Dachanee, Edem Elesh, Marla Fields, Rossalin Garst, Mark Steven Greenfield, Miya Hannan, Koojah Kim, John E. Kneifl, Orlando Leyba, Sommai Ma-on, Prayad Pongdam, William Dean Sarno, Kamol Tassananchalee, Itthipol Thangchalok, Decha Warashoon.
